Bio
Pastor Bruce Cockrell is a dedicated servant of God whose life reflects a strong commitment to faith, leadership, and service. He is married to Minister Lorinda Cockrell, and together they have been faithfully married for 36 years, exemplifying a strong, Christ-centered partnership in both life and ministry.
Pastor Cockrell attended the University of Missouri, where he distinguished himself as both a **football player** and a member of the track and field team. During his collegiate athletic career, he earned the title of Big 8 Track Champion in the 110-meter high hurdles and as a member of the 4x100 Relay. Following college, he briefly pursued professional football with the Los Angeles Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys.
His spiritual foundation was nurtured at Greater Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, where he was an active member of the Praise Community Choir and faithfully served as a deacon. In 1989, he accepted his call into ministry at **Maranatha Campus Ministries**, marking the beginning of a lifelong dedication to serving God’s people.
Pastor Cockrell has a heart for outreach and restoration, particularly in his work with the homeless, helping men transition back into society with dignity, structure, and hope. He has also served in leadership within the **marriage ministry at Christ Worship Center (CWC), supporting couples in building strong, Christ-centered relationships.
Currently, Pastor Bruce Cockrell serves as Executive Pastor at Christ Worship Center, where he works closely with church leadership to advance the vision of the ministry. He is especially passionate about mentoring young men in ministry and continues to serve through worship as a member of the choir at CWC.
