Pastor
Vincent Haywood

Bio
After serving four years in the Active Army, Vincent returned to the streets of 5th Ward where the exposure was so influencing, he found himself drawn to a life of crime. It eventually landed himself in prison for a decade, from November 1991 to September 2002. While incarcerated at Webb County Detention Center in Laredo, TX, Vincent accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and began teaching Bible Study at the facility. He would soon be given authorization to start his own church at the facility on Sunday mornings. It was here, he was ordained as a Pastor by a visiting pastor from Grace Bible Church in Laredo, TX.
After being release from prison, Vincent found life very difficult after losing his first wife from a diabetic seizure on Christmas morning 2011. His concern turned to his two-year-old daughter being raised without a mother, so he remarried six months later to Sharon Herndon. Sharon helped him to remember his calling. It led him to return to church under the covering of Pastor Paul D. Landrew in 2012; however, it wasn’t until he joined Temple of Salvation three years later, under the covering of Bishop Louis Thompson that his gifts manifested. He would begin teaching and preaching the gospel again and start the non-profit organization, 17andBeyond CM&C, where he coached and mentored young men on achieving goals, creating action plans and understanding accountability.
